Ingredients
- Butter, softened
- 4 slices Pepperidge Farm Very Thin white bread
- 4 slices Kraft Deli Deluxe American cheese
- 2 slices tomato, optional
Directions
- Lightly butter every slice of bread on both sides, using only enough to coat the surface. Set a large nonstick pan or a griddle over medium heat.
- Lay the bread in the pan and move the slices around as they toast, so the first side browns evenly, about 2 minutes.
- Turn 2 slices over, then put 2 slices of cheese on each one, with the cheese sitting right on the browned side.
- Set the other 2 bread slices over the cheese, making 2 sandwiches: cheese and toasted sides tucked inside, unbrowned sides facing out.
- Let the sandwiches cook, giving them a gentle spin around the pan now and then, until the undersides are golden, about 2 minutes.
- Turn them over and cook the last side the same way, nudging them around occasionally, until that side is golden too, about 2 minutes longer.
