Ingredients
- 8 ounces wide egg noodles
- 1 cup whole milk
- 10 ounces white chocolate, finely chopped
- 5 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 cups light sour cream
- 1 1/2 cups cottage cheese
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Pinch salt
Directions
- Set an oven rack in the upper-middle position, then heat the oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a 9- by 13-inch baking dish with butter. Cook the noodles as directed on the package, stopping when they are still a little firm, or al dente. Drain them, then scatter them in the buttered dish so they can cool.
- Warm the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until it reaches a simmer. Add the chocolate and whisk until the mixture is melted and smooth.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, sour cream, cottage cheese, vanilla, and salt. Add the melted chocolate mixture and whisk until everything is blended.
- Pour the custard over the noodles in the pan. Arrange the noodles evenly, pressing them down so they are well coated. Bake until the top is golden and the pudding is just set, about 40 minutes. Let it cool for 30 minutes, then serve.
