Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 6 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small cubes
- 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 large apple, peeled and diced
Directions
- Heat your oven to 425°F.
- In a medium bowl, add the diced apple, milk, cheddar cheese, butter cubes, salt, and baking powder. Stir everything together until the pieces are nicely spread through the bowl.
- Scatter in the flour and stir only until the dough comes together. This is not the moment to show off your mixing muscles.
- Tip the dough onto a lightly floured surface, then knead it gently for 1-2 minutes.
- Roll or pat the dough until it is about 1/2 inch thick, then cut it into whatever biscuit shapes you like with a biscuit cutter or a knife. Set the biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch between them.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the tops are golden brown and the centers are baked through.
- Enjoy them.
