Orange Miso Steak
Seared steak gets a savory-sweet orange miso pan sauce for a fast dinner with bright citrus and deep umami flavor.

Ingredients
- Salt
- Sesame oil
- Cooking oil
- Orange juice
- Juice
- Mirin
- Orange
Directions
- Set the steak out for 15 minutes so it can lose some of its chill. Coat both sides of each steak with cooking oil, then sprinkle with salt.
- Warm an oven-safe pan, preferably cast iron, over high heat. Once the pan is extremely hot, place the steaks in it and sear until nicely browned, 3-5 minutes. Turn the steaks over and cook the second side for another 3-5 minutes. Move the steaks to a clean plate.
- Turn the heat down to medium-low. Pour in the beef stock, Miso and Easy, mirin, and sesame oil, and cook for 1 minute. Stir in the orange juice, then return the steaks to the pan and continue cooking until they reach your preferred doneness. Check with a meat thermometer: 135F = rare, 145F = medium rare, 160F = medium, 170F = well-done.
- Spoon the pan sauce over the steak and serve.
