Steak with Teriyaki Sauce
Seared steak gets a glossy teriyaki finish with browned mushrooms and crisp-tender peppers for a quick, savory skillet dinner.

Ingredients
- Salt
- Pepper
- Cooking oil
- Mushrooms
Directions
- For the teriyaki sauce, combine all the sauce ingredients in a small sauce pan with a whisk. Set it over low heat and simmer for 3 minutes, just until it thickens a bit, then take it off the heat.
- Pour one tablespoon of the cooking oil into a pan set over medium-high heat. Sprinkle the steak with salt and pepper, then sear it for 2 minutes per side. Transfer the steak out of the pan.
- Add the remaining 1/2 tablespoon of cooking oil to the pan. Stir in the mushrooms and sauté them until they are lightly browned, 2 minutes. Add the peppers and cook until they are crisp tender, another 2 minutes.
- Return the steak to the pan, turn the heat down to low, and pour in the teriyaki sauce. Simmer everything together for 1 minute.
- Spoon the teriyaki sauce, mushrooms, and peppers over the steak to serve.
