Gnocchi with Lemony Sage Brown Butter Sauce

Ingredients

  • Salt
  • Butter
  • Pepper
  • Pepper flakes
  • Lemon
  • Garnish
  • Red pepper
  • Juice
  • Sage leaves

Directions

  1. Prepare the ricotta gnocchi as directed in its recipe. While that is happening, set a large sauté pan over medium-high heat and add the butter. When the butter is almost fully melted, stir in the sage leaves and crushed red pepper flakes. Cook for 2-3 minutes more, watching carefully, until the butter is lightly browned and the sage has crisped.
  2. Take the pan off the heat. Add the cooked, drained gnocchi, along with the lemon zest and lemon juice, about 1-2 tablespoons. Toss everything together, then season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve warm with lots and lots of Parmesan cheese over the top.
